Friday 7:30 :)

This will be the 4th night in a row for the 7:30 bed time. YEEEEEE HAW.

I just finished a 15 page lab report/research paper on ECGs and heart sounds. Last week we actually performed an ECG on our lab partner. We use our own data to write the report. It only took 11 solid hours total ;) and that doesn't include the time for the ECG. I'd say 15 total. Monday is a lab practical and Tuesay is another lecture test. Summer school is fast! Tomorrow we drive to Norman, OK for my cousin's wedding. Can you spell T-I-R-E-D???? 9:07 and I'm off to bed.

7:30 AGAIN!!!!!

She was down at 7:30 again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll probably post this every day until it becomes normal ;) Last night she didn't even wake up at all. Miracle!

I dissected my cat today. It is soooooooooooooooooooooo disgusting. Thought about posting pictures. The cat is skinned (except for the feet and head). He comes in a zip lock bag with lots of juice. GAG! My friend Candace and I were cleaning up the mess and the cat juice splattered all over her face. Enough said. 9 more days of this A&P class. It's a ton of work and I'll be happy when it's over.

Chips and Salsa

M loves spicy food! She will eat hot sauce by the spoonful. Here she is with some chips and queso. The photo at the bottom is a table I just finished redoing. My Uncle and I found this in an antique store near Canton. I've always loved it. He was going to leave it in his apartment for the complex to throw out. His trash is my treasure. It was originally dark brown with mustard colored cushions. I painted it and recovered the seats. It's in the sun room/play room now and looking VERY cute!

Lab

We have a huge test in our lab on Monday. Today I took pictures through a microscope lens so I can remember what the cells look like. If you hold the camera just right it will take a decent pictures. My cousin says I am a huge nerd! Anyway....I was going to send them in an email to my lab partners. It's actually so much easier just to blog it all. If you want to see some disgusting stuff that I am working on go to www.anatomytwu.blogspot.com Cat pics to come!

Whirlwind Week

The past 10 days have been crazy! Last Friday I took my US government final. I made a 100 (thank you very much) and an A in the class. That's two for two so far! Then on Saturday we had a bridal shower for my cousin's fiance. It was at my house. So Friday was wild with cleaning and cooking. The shower turned out nice. Sunday I went out with Julie and Gabriel for G's B-day. There were about 12 of us and we ate in a private room at Nobu (in the Crescent). It was a treat! Then on Monday I started my next class. ANATOMY PART 2!!!!!! It's a 3 hour class with a 1 hour lab. The lab work is equal to the class work. Both classes are interesting. My lab instructor has a very thick Hindi accent. Today he explained the male and female reproductive anatomy. I had to keep myself from laughing. It was the accent and all the terms. TOO HILARIOUS!!!! AND we will be dissecting a C-A-T :( I'll update on that as soon as it happens. I'm very fortunate to get a "second chance" at college. The only down side is that summer school is FAST and the pace is difficult to keep. I'll try my best and hope for good grades. Lab practical on Monday and lecture test on Tuesday!

M cheesing it up at the shower.

Shower guests.

HELP!!!! She is way into climbing.

Molly M #2

I'm trying to study for my final exam and I don't want to. BOOO to that :) Today I got on facebook and found my best friend from high school. She and I haven't been in touch in about 3 years. She has a 13 month old daughter named Molly Mounce. I couldn't believe it! We are going to get together soon. Is she a doll or what?

Sassy!

Oh where oh where has my sweet baby gone?
Oh where oh where can she be?

M has started being very sassy. OH MY! 3 times she has thrown herself on the floor in a tantrum. She tells me NO to everything. She's only doing it to me so far so that's good. I guess the twos are here a little early. I hope the sweet comes back soon :)

9

9 is the number of justices on the Supreme Court. I feel like Chief Justice Roberts is my long lost friend. I know everything about him, down to the color of his underwear. I have never studied this much for 1 test in all of my life. It's over 6 chapters and I hope I have studied the right info. I want an A!!!!! Tomorrow 8:00 am

Halo Salon

My childhood best friend Jennifer recently opened her own salon in Fort Worth. This past week she held a big fund raiser for women in war torn countries. They had an awesome party and BIG prizes. Katy and I both won nice prizes. Katy won a $200 pair of shoes and I won a spa package at the Gaylord. Someone knows what I need :) I'm not exactly sure how much money Jennifer raised but it was a lot! Go Jennifer!

Jennifer and Brandon

F.F.L. Friends for Life. 34 years.

Jen's cousins Becca, Carrie, Charles with Katy

Carrie and Katy. On a side note Carrie has a very rare form of cancer. She just had a huge portion of her back removed (in the shape of a #7), 3 ribs taken out and chemo. She has two daughters, Cara (5 years old) and Baily (3 years old). Pray for total healing.

Bunnies

Yesterday ended on a high note. My Mom cooked us dinner and a delicious chocolate cake. Then we lit sparklers on her patio. On my way out my Mamie gave me these bunnies. Do you know how one item will remind you totally of a person. These bunnies are Mamie all over! I've loved them since I was a little girl. She thought it was time for me to have them. Sweet! I'm glad it's June 26th and that I can move on again.

PS-We have a family joke that my Dad and Michael Jackson are dancing together in Heaven. You know both on June 25th. We could not stop laughing about it. My Dad's favorite Michael Jackson song was Beat It.

Sharing

Molly shared her cheese with Rocky and Baby today.

We know why they really love her.

Tonight I wanted a Braum's chocolate yogurt (again). Guess who I shared it with (again)????

I never thought twice about giving it up.

Awake

Oh, I so want to take a nap all day. It's a good way to avoid the next few days. However, I am making myself stay on a decent sleeping schedule. I think it's helpful.

On another note.....we have distributed clothing and toys to 15 foster kids in the past 8 days. It's been a little insane but awesome at the same time. It's a real blessing to be the delivery girl and meet the kids.

Monday

Saturday was the 20 year anniversary of my Aunt Mary's suicide. I was 14 when she passed and so it took me up until 2 years ago to "understand" the situation. My family met at her grave site this weekend but I passed on that.

Mary loved animals a ton, maybe even more than me. So instead of going to her grave I took Molly to the zoo. It seemed like the perfect way to think of her. When Katy and I were young Mary took us horse back riding every weekend. She had 1 horse that she and Katy would ride. Then I would ride different horses from the horse lot. I never knew what kind of horse I would get! Let me put it this way, Katy and I never told our mom how many times we were bucked off because we knew that would be the end of horse back riding. One time I rode a little Shetland pony named Rusty. We were about 4 miles out from the stables. All the sudden Rusty turned and ran all the way back on his own. I think I was about 10 so I cried the whole way. It makes me laugh to think of Rusty running out of control and me crying.

What Aunt Mary taught me.

Every cuss word I know.......she was a little wild.
Driving fast is fun!
How to love and take care of animals, especially dogs.
Grown ups don't always keep promises. I didn't figure this out until meeting with Aggie.
How to draw cartoon animals.
How to order at Taco Bueno :)
How to ride horses.
How to have a child like spirit as a grown up.
An adult (Aunt, teacher, friend or other) who loves a child can make a positive difference in their life by spending quality time with them.

I love you Aunt MarMar and I'll never forget you.

PS-I have a government test tomorrow. I know it's not organic chemistry ;) but every grade counts. Please pray for an A. Also check Lindsay's blog----there are improvements.

Big Prayers

Little Lindsay had a big set back last night. She is on life support today. Pray for her.

Lindsay's Heart

Most of you know little Gracie (through Amanda's blog). She passed away about 3 months ago. She was born with HLHS and had a transplant that did not go well. Amanda was very touched by her story and so I read it all. Gracie and Gracie's family still cross my mind about 100 times a day. Through her blog I have read about many other cardiac kids. The past 2 months I've been following Lindsay's blog. She is a 1 year old and just received a heart transplant this past week. She is doing well but still needs many prayers.

There is something so special about the heart babies. I would have never learned about them if it weren't for Amanda's link to Gracie. I think what amazes me most is that these kids push on through so much pain and their families are loving God despite their very tough circumstances. They are truly and inspiration. Check out cute little Lindsay on her blog http://www.lindsaysheart.blogspot.com/ and send some prayers her way.

PS- Well the chem prof said for us to get our track shoes one. Let's go! I am a little scared but I figure a little healthy fear will do me some good. I just worked on the homework (for tomorrow) and half of it took me 2 hours. It's actually kind of fun..........is that scary or what?

Sinking

Prayers Please
I am finally quick about recognizing the beginning of a valley in my depression. For about 5 months I've been riding it out pretty steady. I swear to all of you that I am not even thinking so much about the fact that it is June. It is like my body remembers on it's own. I know the sinking is starting because #1. I go from eating 3 meals a day to forgetting about eating at all. #2. I want to lay down in the afternoon. #3. Church seems annoying to me. Just got back and it was annoying. When I start to sink I think the pastor is making good stuff up. #4. Going to a hotel and sleeping for days without interruption sounds great.

I'm done laying down to this crap! It is starting but I recognize it early now. Amy D just invited me to the pool at 3. I WILL GO! I WILL GO! I WILL GO! I will not isolate because then it gets worse. Please pray....I want to feel reasonably happy and energetic. Maybe starting chemistry tomorrow will lift my spirits. Having a positive goal to shoot for is always helpful and a good distraction at this time of year.

PS-Funny! I was at the pool yesterday and some guy asked me what the tattoo on my back meant. Seriously, I forget it's even there because it doesn't usually show in clothes. For those of you who haven't seen it is says free 06-25-06 and obviously stands for my Dad's passing. His stretch song was about being free so that is how it was picked. Long story short....when the guy asked me I told him it was when I got out of jail. LOL! Going into the whole death suicide thing was just such a downer. I wish you guys could have seen his face when I made the jail comment. HILARIOUS!

What if..............

The other night at my B-day dinner Judy pulled out her What if book. You know you can't go to dinner with another Barnabite without getting into some type of thoughtful conversation. So she read several of the what if questions. The last one she read was, what if you only had 1 hour left to live? What would you do in that hour? Without any hesitation this was my answer.

Even after 12 hours of labor, 4 hours of pushing, an emergency c-section, being cut into while not totally numb, then being put totally under, 2 catheters, and some weird pressure moon boots to keep the blood moving in my legs, this is BY FAR AND BEYOND where I would want to be if I only had 1 hour left to live. The What if book was fun and I'll post some more questions later.

See Slade

Every time we pull up to the house Molly says, "I see Slade". Slade is the neighbor's boxer. She is more interested in him than our dogs. Today I let her play with the hose and she took it right to him. Then she kissed him through the fence. I am also including a couple of pictures from the Little Chef's Cooking Camp. My friend Pattye and I came up with the idea this spring. It's been fun. Hopefully we will do it again next year.

Cute photo of Slade from today.
