Quinn is 1

Little Quinn turned 1! Quinn and her sister Reese live one street over and I'm hoping for long term friendship :) Quinn is going to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween and Timmy (although he doesn't know yet) is going to be Mickey! Molly already thinks Reese is going to be in her kindergarten class at Janie Stark, 2 years from now.

Don't you just love 1st Birthdays? Happy Birthday sweet Quinn!

Ji

This is the only picture I have of Baby Ji. So as I update you are going to see the one and only precious picture, over and over again. It was taken last year in September so I just know I won't recognize her when I meet her in person (in the next 9-12 months). We have been working on gathering everything for our dossier. One of our big envelopes with several major documents got lost in the mail and never returned. We are almost finished again. Tomorrow (on the third day of school) our case worker is coming to make a home visit. She needs to update our Korea home study and make it Hague/China ready. The process is a little more involved so I imagine she would be done in a month. Also, our BIG and VERY AWESOME fund raiser is about to kick off! It's called Both Hands and it benefits an orphan (Ji) and a very special widow in the community. I'll post more details soon. So excited!!!!!

I know God's timing is perfect but I've been praying about all of this since May. I can't believe it's all kind of coming together during the first week of school. Did I mention it was the first week of school :) LOL! We love you Ji and we can't wait to come get you!

First Day

Here they are on the 1st day of school, this past Monday. I think these photos really show their indvidual personalities. Molly LOVED school and they tell me that Timmy did well. When I picked him up he yelled, I go HOME! I think in a few weeks he'll get it and be enjoying himself as well. I'm out of the back to school slump and working my way back up hill. My room is ready and we get our class lists tomorrow. Then I'll be excited! The kids, it's all about the kids for me!

Caught

I already posted these pictures before. Just wanted to include them in the Sunday Snap shot at www.nihaoyall.com. If you haven't visited that site yet, check it out! They just brought home precious Poppy! Of all the pictures I took this summer, these are my favorites!

Tomorrow is the 1st day of school for this family. Say some big prayers for Timmy please! It's going to be quite an adjustment.

Seriously Funky!

It's Saturday-2 days away from school starting. I'm in a semi-serious funk about it. Molly seems to have no idea but Timmy could be possibly picking up on it. I think his facial expressions pretty much say it all. Again, I want to say.....I like my job and I actually love the kids. Transition, transition and MORE transitions! Adjustments, adjustments and more adjustments. Should be good to go in about 2 weeks, I hope!

Last Day

Here are some pics from this week. My cousins took Molly for a day. Then they came by to visit. Mom is organizing all of her teaching supplies and she really has all the coolest things! Plus she kept everything in perfect shape. These noses came out for the cousin party and it was a good laugh!

I'm struggling a little with "back to school". I want to go back but at the same time am having some major sadness about leaving Thing 1 and Thing 2. Molly will do fine and actually cried today because she didn't get to stay at school when we dropped off the supplies. Timmy....that's totally different. He gets overwhelmed pretty easy and they won't let me start him in a younger class. Although I am sure after two weeks they will be begging to move him down. He's just a lot younger than his chronological age. With all that said, I want to be sure and MENTION, I am still super thankful to have a job and be teaching another year in CFB. I can't lose sight of that.

The Ducks

When we adopted Timmy his foster mommy let him keep his stuffed duck. He loves this duck and will not go anywhere without him. Recently other people have given him a few more ducks and now he has to take three with him everywhere. Today I told Timmy we were going in the car. A few minutes later he was dressed in heels and had two purses and three ducks to take with him.

Uncle Mike

A few weeks ago we went out on Uncle Mike's boat. Uncle Mike is one of my Dad's older brothers. He's so much fun and always enjoys spending time with the cousins and all of our friends too. Molly LOVED driving the boat but we didn't try to get her up on skis yet! Maybe next year.

Book Suggestions???

I only have time to read in the summer. This year I read a few books. Tapestry (the adoption ministry at church) held a 7 week book study on the Connected Child by Karen Purvis. It was EXCELLENT! Then I read Baby Proof by Emily Giffin. I'll admit chick-lit is one of my guilty pleasures. Right now I'm trying to finish Jane Eyre. I love the classics and never read much in high school or college when I was supposed to. Molly read Jane Eyre as well ;)

If you have any good book suggestions please post a comment!

So Tired

Sunday Snapshot

These two were waiting patiently to get out of the bath last night. Caught them just like this. The Sunday Snapshot link above is to one of my favorite blogs. They just brought home their precious daughter, Poppy from China. YEAH! She is adorable!!!!!

Fossil Rim

I wanted to finish out the summer with a few fun treats. Yesterday my Mom, Molly and I drove out to Glen Rose to Fossil Rim. It's fun to feed the animals and the scenery is gorgeous. Even though it's only an hour out it doesn't feel like flat, treeless, old Dallas. We went early and it was only 95 at 9:00 am! Molly was amused by the ostrich that stole my food sack and also how one of the huge deer slobbered on MY arm! GACK! We finished our trip at DQ with some chicken fingers and a blizzard. (We would have loved to included Timmy but his heart condition causes him to over heart quite fast. Just didn't want you guys to think I'd left him out for no reason. Hopefully, next year buddy!).

Julia

On the right side of my blog there is a picture of Julia from an Orphan's Wish. We have sponsored her now for a few months and guess what............SHE WAS MATCHED with her FOREVER FAMILY! How awesome is that? 146 million orphans in the world. Now there is one less. God bless little Julia and her new family.

Spa Molly

Every night after M takes her bath we have "Spa Molly". Spa Molly includes; brushing hair, cutting and painting finger and toenails, perfume, deodorant, face cream and a massage! I so love playing Spa Molly.
