Pitting Out

I promise after today............more fun posts to come :) You all know the situation at my job. 3 members of my team have been hard to work with. About 2 months ago I had enough. I have not spoken up for myself or been confrontational at all. Take it, take some more, take some more..........Long story short I said some things to my boss that weren't that nice. I think she was surprised at the time. (Yes, even I have a limit :) For the past few weeks I have felt convicted to ask for her forgiveness about the way I talked to her. I went to her office today and owned my part. I'm pretty sure she was surprised. I think most people brush over things like this and they never get addressed. Here's to working a 12 step program!!! We talked a bit and she said thank you for being honest. She also said that I had risen above in all situations this year. I'm so happy to be free of thinking of the way I talked to her. I always forget that forgiveness is mostly freeing for the seeker. Through out this whole ordeal it was my only regret. IT IS HARD TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS! It's done and I can coast on through the next month and feel good about myself.

PS-I was so nervous my shirt is probably ruined. Pitting out! GROOOOSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Almost May

This time of year is when I start to remember the progression of my Dad's sickness. May 14th, Bob's Birthday and the day we got engaged was the first time we found out my Dad was suicidal. I sometimes feel like maybe I shouldn't talk about this or maybe people think that I should move on a little quicker. Maybe thinking about it makes people uncomfortable. I have no realm for that since my Aunt Mary committed suicide when I was 14. One thing I vowed after my Dad died is that this would not be a secret. This is not my "bad attitude" however there are two things that bother me after 3 years of surviving this. 1. So many people joke about killing themselves if something is too hard. Some people have even pointed an imaginary gun at their head and made the gesture of shooting themselves. There are other instances I won't mention because they were so horrid. Important people have done this, people who "should" know better. And yet it leaves me wondering when I have hurt someone by a thoughtless comment. wow. 2. I can't tell you how many times people have said that my Dad's suicide was a selfish act or that he had a choice. Let me tell you this, if someone had a choice they would not choose a painful and lonely death. Not to mention that I fully believe that my Dad had a mental break the two weeks before his death. He was not himself what so ever. Suicidal people believe that death is the only option to relieve their pain.

On the inside I always hope people don't think I can't move on or that I am living in the past. For myself, I have to say that suicide is a part of my life. It's not the only part of my life. I have a family, dogs that I love, a church, a small ministry in my garage, a job, a goal for another job, and a few awesome friends. Especially at this time of year I have to remember these things to be thankful for. I also have to accept that this strange plan for my life is not something I am skilled to understand.

There was one song I listened to for 2 solid months after my Dad's death. All the time.....non stop. I listened to it loud in the car and anywhere I could listen to it. I wanted so badly to believe the words. The last part is best if listened to very loud, possibly singing the words with everything you have inside.

My Savior, My God by Aaron Shust

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand stands one who is my Savior.

I take him at his word and deed
Christ died to save me, this I read
And in my heart I find a need of Him to be my Savior.

That he would leave his place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior.

My Savior loves, my Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me
My God; He was; My God He is
My God is always gonna be.

Dog Poster

One of my students made this for me last night. Isn't it so cute? I love how Zoey looks like a black and white cow. I may have to laminate it.

Daddy's Socks

Molly was dying to have these socks on this morning. She was dying to put them on by herself but needed a little help :)

Providing

The Bible says that God will provide us with all that we need. In theory this is something that I do believe. If say Bob were to loose his job or something like that I wonder what I would think??? However, in the past 24 hours I have personally witnessed this "providing" with my own eyes. You all know we run the clothing closet for Tapestry. We receive stuff, organize it and then pass it on. This is for any foster parent, not just at our church. Yesterday a lady emailed me for clothing for 4 children (a sibling set). I had not one item in the sizes she needed. No joke...........when I pulled up to my house today there were 7 trash bags on my door step. Tonight I dug through them (while Molly was "crying it out") and found beautiful, almost new clothes for 3 of the 4 kids. I also found about 5 fun, big trucks. The 2 and 3 year old boys will love them. Plus there were tons of new baby toys for the 1 year old. God even provides the right clothing sizes for homeless kids. AMAZING! Every time that we have needed something for these kids it has appeared within days. In all seriousness, who am I to doubt the creator of the universe?

PS-Molly has been crying now for 45 minutes and I can't take it!!!!!!!!!!!!

GED Help!!!!

HELP! The Baby House is trying to renew their license with the state. Maria, Molly's favorite teacher does not have her high school diploma. They just found out that this would be a problem. She has worked at the Baby House for 3 years and loves all of the children so much! I am determined to rally around her and help her pass. With so many educators around it shouldn't be a problem. Right? Do any of you know about the GED or alternatives??? I found a few on line programs tonight. Gotta run...........two stinky great danes are breathing on me!!!!

Test #3

Tonight I took my 3rd nutrition test. I left feeling so so about my grade. That hopefully means a low A or a high B. Our prof offered extra credit so my average is now a 100. Only one more test to go! I am already registered through December. After that all I will need is a statistics class! Keep praying for a 4.0

Dev. Psych-Maymester (Internet Only)
Chemistry and Lab-Summer 1
Anatomy Part 2 and Lab-Summer 2
US Government-Fall (Internet Only) Made a D freshman year......too much water skiing!
Anatomy Part 1 and Lab-Fall

The lowest score TWU usually takes is a 3.7 so I am shooting for a 4.0!!!!! Add .4 to overall GPA (for admission purposes only) if prerequisite classes are taken at TWU.

GREAT dane

Here are some standing pictures of the girls that show their size. Love the black dot on Zoey's hiney. People may break into my car but they won't dare break into my house. I have so much LOVE for this breed. WHY? Well, I read The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. I fell in love with Singer, the dane in the book. For months I thought about this dog. After my Dad passed I spent about an hour a day on the internet looking at dane puppies. It was the one thing that really made me feel so happy :) After 6 months of looking I picked Highlander's Christmas Snowflake aka Zoey Katherine Cupcake Dreams Really Do Come True Meeker. She is a typical dane; lovable, goofy, clumsy, smart but plays dumb and BIG! Zoey's Weight=My Weight (post baby :)

Hat Pictures

These photos required a lot of work on my part. By the time our little "session" was over I was sweating. In the third picture I was actually sitting on her, holding my camera, and holding the hat on. She doesn't want anything on her head! I think the quality of my photos is improving but I'll probably only be able to photograph my kids. No one else would want me sitting on theirs :)

Getting Rid of the Bottle

Hi Mommas!
Amanda and I have already had this conversation. She gave me her input and I am thinking I just need to go for it! Molly wakes up 2 times every night for a bottle. Yes, I know she is almost 16 months old. Too old! Any suggestions on "going for it" welcome.

Fresh Start

On Wednesday night my car was broken into. My work key and back pack were stolen. This coming Monday I have my 3rd nutrition test and a huge assignment due. My book, notes and assignment were all in the back pack :( My personal journal for the past year was also in it. I wrote about my journal in an earlier post. I was kind of hoping to keep it forever. Maybe loosing it means I don't need to remember every detail of this year. My drawings and mementos are gone though and that makes me sad. Bob is so sweet. He always takes things in stride and helps me to realize what matters. So, last night I drove back up to Denton, bought a new book ($114 used) and started the assignment again in the computer lab. I did treat myself to a new notebook, markers, and journal :) Starting over..........

New stuff! Love the markers!!!!

YES!

Molly loves these girls and they are being so good. They will walk right next to her and not step on her. They still step on me though:) Big lovable babies!!!! We also bought them more new beds. We might as well just buy them their own twin mattresses. SO BIG!

Dallas World Aquarium

The four generations took a field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium this weekend. It was fun and not too busy. Field trips there were always crazy. Molly liked feeding the toucans blueberries. She also loved the black and white ducks (other wise known as penguins). She kept quacking at them.

What do you do on Saturday night?

Some people go out to dinner, some go to parties and some go to movies. We stay home and swing our baby girl in a blanket while dancing around to loud music :) KT and Nick were over Saturday night and we made a hammock out of this blanket. Molly was so relaxed inside. We took turns swinging her for an hour or more! KT and Nick are awesome with Molly. I do have to make a special note about Nick here. He is THE BEST Uncle that ever lived! You can't imagine how much he loves to play with her.

Sonic Ice

What do you do after hunting eggs and playing outside for two hours? Go to Sonic for ice of course! I think she could eat her own weight in ice.

Easter at the Baby House

The Baby House had a fun Easter party and egg hunt today. As you can see from the pictures Molly was only interested in playing with the orange car.

Pink

Here is one of the dresses I won on ebay. Ralph Lauren and only been worn once. $11.23
Whoooooohooooooooooo!

Girly Girls

I've always been more of a tomboy than a girly girl. I think because my Dad treated me like I could do anything I thought being girly was wimpy. Let's be honest, I wore a Dallas Mavericks t-shirt, cleats, pig tails and jeans every day of 5th and 6th grade so the boys would pick me first to play soccer. In the past few weeks I've realized that girly is O.K. :) Not to mention that lately everyone thinks Molly is a boy. She mostly wears Gap and won't wear a bow so it's to be expected. In celebration of my new realization Molly has 3 new pale pink dresses (sorry Michelle) and a new back pack. It's a tiny one that she can wear to Sunday school so I don't have to carry the huge diaper bag. She picked it out at Baby's R Us and it is probably the most girly one there. I showed her about ten others and she kept holding it and saying "this". As long as she doesn't get the "princess" attitude it's OK with me.

PS-It looks so cute on!
