Last Day of Summer

Molly and I just spent our last day of summer together. Tomorrow is new teacher orientation at ESD. I tried to pack it all in one day. We fed the ducks. They sort of swarmed us but it was not too scary. We baked brownies, ate some ice cream together, went shoe shopping, washed the great danes, mowed the grass, and painted some school furniture. Molly did about half of that and I went to town while she was sleeping. Tonight is the new teacher dinner at Father Swan's house.

The Meekers are big Cowboy fans. Last year Bob wore the Romo jersey for every game and I wore the T.O. jersey. Let me tell you I looked pretty cute 8 months pregnant with it on. So, we have included Molly this year. She is #24 Marion Barber. We figure with Romo, T.O. and Barber support we've got the offense pretty much covered. Go Cowboys!!!!!

So.......none of you better turn me into animal control for having too many doggies at my house. This little one came to stay with us last night. He is only supposed to stay for a month but Bob and I aren't sure if his parents really want him or not. He is an 8 week old English Bulldog and PRECIOUS!!!!!!!! He has a curly little tail on his chubby bootie. I'll try to take a picture of that later. His given name is Dozer but that so YUCKO to me so I call him Cutie Pie!

I bought these pajamas at the Gap last year and have been dying for them to fit. It was hot today but we had fun trying them on. I love love love the leg stripes!!!!!

Macey spent the night with us again. She is the kindest seven year old I have ever met. If Molly is half as sweet and nice as Macey I would be over the moon.

Weekend

Rebecca turned 10 in June. We are just now seeing her to celebrate her B-day. Bob made steak and I made a yummy cake using Carmen's recipe. YUMMY!

Saturday!

Today was such a fun day. Bob got to see Rebecca for the 1st time in 3 months. We ate lunch and swam at the Farmers Branch pool. Rebecca took these pictures of her and Molly in the back seat of the car. The one of the two of them cracks me up. Also, at the bottom of the page my child is eating a green onion. YES and she liked it. The AC lady told me it helps their gums to feel good during teething. Molly chewed up 3! I think she may stink for church in the morning :)

A Few Things

This cross was made at a heavenly toes party. If you haven't heard of it they are pretty fun. They use kids hand prints and footprints to make different crosses, plates, holiday bowls etc.... This is the one we made with Molly's foot. It's so cute!

The THING! This is our new AC unit! It is HUGE!!!! After 2 months of drama I wish I could say things were OK. However, we have a pump leak. Someone has been out twice today and they are coming back tonight. Yes, it's 7:15 on a Friday night. GOOD GRIEF! I hope this all works out soon.

Summer Project-I LOVE Landscaping!!!! This summer I started adding to our front beds. I don't really know what I am doing. I drive around Highland Park to see what I like then I copy in my own yard. Tonight I almost finished another bed on the side of the house. Now that the dogs are trained inside I will start the back yard.

Eli Turns 1

July 22, 2008-Our friend Eli turned 1 year old. He had a fun and low key Birthday party at home. I think it was a perfect part for a 1 year old. His Mommy (Michelle) made him a cute basketball cake. Yummy! Happy Birthday Eli, we are glad you were born.

Teresa and John (Zoey's original parents) lost their baby Duncan last Monday. He aspirated on some food and then had a lung infection. They tried to save him. This is especially sad because Duncan was the Uncle to all the pups and slept with their son every night. We are so sad for Duncan's family. He will be missed.

Molly is 7 months old and that was long enough for me to be without my baby girls. Back in the bed girlies. For those of you who are skeptical about cuddling with a 145 pound dog, well words just can't describe how wonderful it is!

Today we made a hilarious B-Day video for our friend Julie. We can't tell too much about it on the blog or it will blow the secret. Katy was Katie Couric and yes I was Matt Lauer in an Elvis wig. It was an awesome day! Jillian got to play her Auntie Julie in the video.
