Visiting baby Liam!

Here is Amanda my best frined. We have been friends for 6 years. Recently, I was blessed to be a part of the birth of her new baby, Liam Scott. Isn't he tiny! Looking at these three kiddos is a good reminder that life flies by fast.

Great Danes, Great Dogs!

Well, as most of you know owning a Great Dane has been a long time dream of mine. The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks caused me to fall in love with the personality of the Dane. Let's just say their physical size is no match for the size of their heart or goofiness! Zoey Katherine Cupcake Dreams Come True Meeker is now weighing in at 140 pounds and little sister Honey Doodlebug Meeker is about 90 pounds. Ever since Molly's birth it's been difficult to have them inside full time. We have had them inside, outside, in the kennels, and in their special dog room. I've hated not having them with me all the time.

Bottom Line- They needed to be trained to be inside with a baby. Things have just now calmed down enough to work on this. So, we bought new rugs at Big Lots :) Purple for Zoey and hot pink for Honey. Right now we are working on having them stay in one area instead of running around like maniacs. Zoey on her own is great but the two of them together are WILD! Here is a picture of their first day of training. They are doing great and only want to please. GOOD GIRLS!

Bob has been very helpful and wants them in as much as I do. He says for a Christmas Eve present I can sleep with both of them in the bed again. I can't wait!

Molly and Pups!

Rocky and Baby just love Molly so much. When we lay her on the floor to play the surround her. Baby still keeps her distance as you can see in the last picture. The danes are officially moving back inside full time tomorrow so we'll see what happens next. You know some people say after you have a child the love for your animals will change. NOT ME ;)
PS-The cute quilt is a gift from Michelle Turner's Mom. It's handmade.

Sweet Potatoes

We've been trying new baby foods every few days. Last night when I gave Molly the sweet potatoes she LOVED them. She started kicking and waving her arms around. Most of it probably ended up outside her mouth but so far they are her favorite. Why do they make bibs?????

AIR!

We have air! FINALLY! For those of you who have been asking our air started messing up early June. We have a home warranty company that sent out Proair 4 times. They never fixed it. I called and complained yet they would not help us. Proair said it was a $1500 problem. So Uncle David recommend we try this guy named Jim Kittle. He came out last night and fixed it all for $90. He was super sweet and honest. If you ever need someone I highly recommend him. Kittle Air in Dallas.

For the other bloggers out there-thanks for your comments. I just realized there was a section for that. OH DEAR! Also, I need to be shown how to add links to my blog. As soon as I see Amanda I will do it!

June 25, 2008 Dad

June 25, 2008 was the 2 year anniversary of my Dad's suicide. It's difficult to write all the feelings or affects that day has had on all of us. Bob, Mom and I started the day off getting massages at the Essence of Eve spa on the McKinney Square. It's one of our favorite places. Then we ate lunch next door at the Spoons Cafe. YUMMY! They make the biggest and best cupcakes ever. Katy and Nick were in Europe (PUNKS!).

That night we planted a tree in my Dad's honor at our house. He always loved taking small trees from East Texas and seeing how fast they would grow in his yard at home. People laughed about it and several years later he would have a pretty nice sized tree in his yard. He also LOVED sitting with us in the dark in front of a lighted Christmas tree. That is why we picked the blue spruce. I tend to want to do things like this without even realizing it's like him.

Julie wrote this about my Dad. It brings me to tears each time I read it but I love it. On Sunday morning, June 25th Charles Timothy Cook passed away. By the gracious provision of Jesus his frail body was exchanged for a glorious one, his restless mind exchanged for eternal peace and moments of intimacy with God exchanged for everlasting fellowship.

Dad,
I'll always miss you; your silly jokes, your dry humor, sitting with you in front of the lighted Christmas tree, the way you played with the dogs, going to Cici's Pizza with you :), and mostly the way you had started to look after me the last few years. You will never be replaced.
Amy

Psalm 40
I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire, he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

The blue spruce. We named him Charles Porky. Charles after my Dad and Porky because it's very poky like a porcupine.
